That's probably it. That, and they're pretty keen on showing off to eachother. Sons and daughters unfortunately come under the category of "show-off-able material".

Impressing other families would be important if they wished to retain a certain image. But your ability to adapt to the requirement has also allowed you to make it your own.

Are many here familiar with formal dancing? Or are you also offering some teaching along the way?

A bit of both, I think. It makes for a good mix-up so it doesn't get tedious.

Dancing on a pirate ship must be somewhat different though.

I don't think it's bravery so much as conviction, setting your mind to a task and seeing it through regardless of what may happen.
